ART Team Member Recognized as Aircraft Technician of the Year

BLYTHEVILLE, AR – Aviation Repair Technologies team member John Charles Watts III was honored as the Federal Aviation Administration’s Arkansas Aircraft Maintenance Technician of the Year on July 16thin Blytheville. Mr. Watts is a FAA-certificated airframe and powerplant technician and quality control lead inspector that has been with ART for 10 years. Approximately 2200 aviation maintenance professionals in Arkansas are considered for the award every year based on their contributions to safety and education in the aviation maintenance community. “We are grateful that the FAA has recognized John’s commitment to quality and safety in aviation maintenance”, said Benito Quevedo, president of ART. “Safety comes first at ART, and we are proud that another team member has been selected for this prestigious award.” Mr. Watts is the fourth ART team member to win the award since ART began operations in Arkansas in 2008, and he will now be considered for the U.S. Southeastern District AMT of the Year Award. ART’s first winner of the Arkansas AMT of the Year award, Ms. Joan Arnold, won the U.S. Southeastern District AMT of the Year Award in 2010.

BLYTHEVILLE, AR – Aviation Repair Technologies hosted leading aerospace executives from around the country on June 16th at its annual customer appreciation event at the Arkansas Aeroplex in Blytheville. For the fourth year, ART also invited representatives from KIPP Delta Public Schools to the event to discuss the important role that the schools play in the local community. Thanks to the generosity of ART’s customers, this year the event raised $10,000 in support of KIPP’s academic programs. “We are filled with gratitude for the love that ART shows for KIPP Delta with this event,” said Andy Weld, KIPP Delta’s director of development and communications. “This project demonstrates that ART understands the value of helping students in underserved communities develop the knowledge, skills, and character traits they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond. Aviation Repair Technologies Announces Acquisition of GSO Aviation

BLYTHEVILLE, AR – Aviation Repair Technologies (ART) today announced the acquisition of GSO Aviation, a FAA/EASA-certified Part 145 repair station located in Danville, VA. GSO Aviation is an established supplier of MRO services and inventory support solutions to major regional and narrow-body aircraft operators in the United States and Latin America. The GSO acquisition will add landing gear and fuel component capabilities to ART’s current repair platform and expands ART’s hydraulic and electro-mechanical repair capabilities for the most popular aircraft types operated today.
